CIS 2336 was one of the most informative classes I have taken in the past semesters. I was introduced to HTML, CSS, PHP, SQL, and Javascript. These programming languages can now go on my resume and I am extremely pleased that the course was able to introduce so many languages in one class. Prior to taking CIS 2336, I had some knowledge in Python which helped me understand the other programming languages as we went through the curriculum in the class. Although we did not go into depth with these programming languages, I can confidently expand my knowledge and learn these languages on my own time with the base knowledge that I now have. Each module was structured in a manner which was easy to follow and conprehend. As an interactive learner, the Codecademy tutorials were very benefical to my learning style which aided in grasping the concepts and syntax of the programming langauges. The W3Schools tutorials and quizes were essential in providing me a reference when I needed to review a certain programming language. The knowledge of these programming languages are important to me because I am very interested in programming and how coding creates the vital things we use in our lifes without even realizing it. Also, it is important to me because I want to expand my knowledge as much as I can and be proud to say I know how to code and I know multiple programming languages. I hope to use the knowledge of these programming languages to find a career in the CIS field. Having these programming languages on my resume will definitely aid to achieving that goal. If provided more time in the class, the programming lanauage I would have liked to get into depth with is Javascript. Javascript in my opionion, was one of the most interesting sections due to how important it is to websites. I have always been interested in design and Javascript dynamically provides the visual structure for websites we use everyday.
I enjoyed CIS 2336 and I can say it was my favorite class I took this semester. It has motivated me to further expand my knowledge in programming and I hope to use what I've learn in the future. Professor Crowley was a a fun instructor and it was a pleasure to be in his class. Thank you for viewing my Learning Portfolio.
